Further research and the direction of my project
So far, I did not carry a lot of research, except for kimono history, two designers and creating a questionnaire. I will be however finding more information and inspiration to help me with my Set Project.
How has my research, so far, informed my project?
As I mentioned before I do not have a lot of research, however the one I already carried definitely was helpful for my project. Looking at different designers and their style showed me how I can play around with fabrics, patterns and accessories to create my piece. The kimono history made me realise that I want to make a yukata (type of kimono), which is useful as I want it to be culturally appropriate. The questionnaire so far gave me a general idea of who my targeted group is, what are their views on life and how different age groups, genders and nationalities have different ideas of what fashion is.
How useful has my research been?
It was very useful, as I wrote above. It gave me a clearer idea of what I want to create and how to make something that people would want to wear.
What further research will I carry out next?
Fabrics, Templates of the kimono, Japanese art to use in my body art
How will further research inform my work?
It will help me create better work as I will have the knowledge to do so
Okay, so follow up on this with what you are outlining above. It's worth focusing on the materials you are going to be using to create your final pieces and whether or not you will use a model (and who it is going to be).
