Set Project: Initial Research Part 2 - Artists

Angel Chen

I was mentioning Angel in one of my earlier posts this term. She is one of the contestants of the show Next in Fashion. Despite her loosing she is still a great designer more and more wanted in the fashion industry. One of her latest projects were in collaboration with Addidas Original as well as Canada Goose. Here is some of her work:

Her work is really well thought and perfectly created. All of her clothes are unique, yet wearable and beautiful. I love the colours combinations and different patterns on her work. I really like the last outfit, the red shiny coat is futuristic and kind of connected to 'Matrix'. It could be a great element for my styling collection. I also like the length of the colourful coat and maybe try to include it in my work.

I chose some of the clothes that I liked the best and will suit my idea. I would like to include some kind of suits and vests as well as flares. This styling collection will be elegant but comfortable. I like the design of the first dress it would be perfect for my project.

Italian house of fashion established in 1921 by Guccio Gucci. One of the most recognizable companies in luxury fashion.

I love the newest styling propositions from Gucci. They are colourful and chic and elegant with a retro look. I think this can help me with my project and suit my idea. The long skirts and suits are perfect for the plan I have in mind therefore I can include them in my drawings.

Minju Kim

The last designer I chose is Kim Minju that I also mentioned earlier this year. She is a winner of Next in Fashion competition. Her style is unique and dream-like. I would like to inspire my work a little on her clothes.

Again, similarly to other clothes I chose, I was mostly looking at suits and long dresses. I really like the big trousers in the second look. But my favourite is absolutely the last dress with a see-through top and ruffles at the bottom. I will try to include that in my project.
